Spiritual Growth

Follow the Leader...Living as Jesus did

Monthly Prayer Focus

Below is the monthly prayer focus for Crosspoint. Please contact Ruth Capasso at capa450@netzero.com with any questions.

2011 Prayer Focus
May Focus - Giving - Week 2
June Focus - Celebration - Week 1

January 2012 Prayer Focus - Week 3

Prayer e-chain

If you would like support in prayer, contact Ruth Capasso at rcapasso@kent.edu or Tricia Elliott at triciasoffice@sbcglobal.net. Your prayer concern will be sent to our e-chain, a weekly and as-needed email with prayer requests and prayer guidance. If you would like to support others with your prayers, join the e-chain by sending your email contact information to Ruth or Tricia.

Prayer Room

The Prayer Room, room 207, is a quiet place to slow down, collect your thoughts, center yourself, focus, read, and pray. It is a space in your week where you can rest your mind and allow God to renew your spirit. The prayer room is open from 9:30 to 10:10 then from 10:30 to 11:30am on Sunday mornings. Everyone is welcome.

10:10

Everyone is invited to join Pastor Thom in the Prayer Room for about 10 minutes of prayer at 10:10 on Sunday mornings. During this time we pray for our pastor and others who will lead us in worship. We gather in a circle where some pray aloud and others pray silently. After the prayer circle, some folks remain in the Prayer Room until 10:30 for more silent prayer for Crosspoint.

Focused Times of Prayer

You will find two opportunities for focused times of prayer on Sunday mornings at Crosspoint. On Communion Sundays, the first Sunday of each month, someone is available at the back of the worship area to pray with you and support you in prayer.

Every Sunday, someone prays in the Prayer Room during our worship hour for Crosspoint, for prayer concerns, and for community and world needs. If you would like to give your prayer support in this focused way, sign up for a Sunday. You will find a sign-up sheet at the information table at the back of our worship area.

Devotional Books Available

Be sure to look for guide books, published quarterly, to help and inspire your private prayer and study time. These books, such as Upper Room and Alive Now can be found on the information table at the back of the main worship area.

Small Groups

At Crosspoint you will find a variety of small groups for study and discussion. Small groups provide settings where we learn together and support each other. Participating in a small group is a life practice for spiritual growth. You can find small group information on this website and at the information tables on Sunday morning.

Community Harvest

On the third Sunday of every month we collect nonperishable groceries for Community Harvest. We have named it "Bag Sunday" to remind us to fill a grocery bag of goods to share. Don't forget to bring your "bag" with you every third Sunday.
